I just want an opinion on this Morgan 1889 O. I family friend GAVE it to me this weekend. She said that she isnt a coin person and said she knew I collected and was saving it for me. I agreed to give her $25 since I thought it was pretty sharp. Opinions...
Vf-15-30 I think . Most morgans are now priced at minimum 18 USD for the worst grade . So you have a fair deal there . Rgds
Ok this is the first time I've really tried to grade anything, so here goes..... F-12 I say that because the breast feathers look completely worn to me. Also it looks like quite a bit of the hairlines above the ears are nearly smooth? I also made it a point not to read anyone else's posts before this one. So go ahead...tell me where I messed up
be confident in ur grading capabilities thats where u messed up. u cant learn till u feel confident about what u have learnt already
I think you're right on with F-12. A tad bit more wear at the Obv 10 o'clock rim and it wouldn't even garner a F. Still, for $25 not a bad coin at all. Nice pick-up! Guy~
