I just purchased this and 3 other Morgans at a coin auction. I was wondering how high would you have gone on this coin so I can see if I went to high.

Typically around $35/40 but as high as $50. Unless there were VAMs to consider, but the images are not clear enough to tell.

It's a great coin. The face looks very clean, I wonder if it might be graded higher if you crack it and resubmit. That would double or triple the value if it made 65.

I would have gone $40 on it including shipping.

thanks for your input. i try and use good judgment wheni buy coins by doing reashearch in the red book and so forth. i never go above the price i find and thought i got a good deal on this one and a few others i bought. i gve $60 for it. 2008 red book lists it at $70 i never got the 2009 red book so it didnt help. i dont plan on selling the coin so by the time i do sell it i hope it willl increase in value to recoupe my cost.

That's okay - don't sweat it you got a good coin

That's okay - don't sweat it you got a good coin. It takes years to learn how to buy and that's certainly not bad - keep the coin and keep learning, you did okay.

I think you did very well on the buy.
The Morgan looks extremely clean. No marks on the face.
I would have went $60 on it.
You might want to consider resubmitting.
You may get 65 or even 66.
But at 64 you still did well;)
