Here is my seatedhalf dime type set. One was graded anacs au-50, another ngc au-55; and the third one was raw. They all have about the same amount of luster and similar wear. I'm quite pleased with them! There are a few hairlines that jump out with high res pictures, but absolutely none of them are visible to the naked eye. Opinions? A
nice examples man. I love the half dime. One of the first coins that I ever bought was a half dime. I love that thing.
Your 1853 Arrows is from clashed dies. You can see it particularly on the reverse: - the wavy line below "TES" in "STATES" - possibly above the "AL" in "HALF" - inside the "M" in "DIME" There's probably other places too. BTW, I like die clashes. Like die cracks, they give a coin personality. Nice group of coins.
thanks guys! Yeah, I love the no stars! My DANSCO only holds spaces for 3 types. I could punch a hole in it though like I did for my gold page.:smile
For the record, my type set contains five SL half dimes. No Stars (1837-38) Stars/No Drapery (1838-40) Stars/Drapery (1840-53, 1856-1859) Arrows (1853-55) Legend (1860-73)
