They run more per die on smaller denominations Those Zincolns that get a good strike are hard to find And the prep, handling ,distribution, not to mention the unstable zinc under that thick copper lol
I suspect many denominations are running on that many presses. Nickels are about 6x lower in mintages but also a harder material. Speed and material hardness will dull the dies at different rates under varied conditions. But they are generating a lot of coins daily so they may operate a couple shifts of production and sharpen, dress, re-press dies on a third shift. But during the day they may swap out die sets periodically to maintain quality. Clients of mine practice the method above but most work is forming rather than coining. Coining I suspect is harder on a tool. Equipment maintenance has to figure in also. So many variables I suppose. A former mint worker would have the best idea.
