I collect anything and everything in numismatics. Well, pretty much anyway. My focus right now is Walking Liberty Halves, my recently started Mercury dime set, my recently started U.S. type set, any ancients that catch my eye. Or well, just about anything that catches my eye from Morgans to world coins.
I collect Peace dollars, (2more) Franklins (complete) US type set dansco7070 lincoln cents washington quarters jeffersons winchester rifles
Well, as long as we are do this: Comic Books dating back to the 1800's - I wouldn't be entirely surprised if I didn't have one of the largest non-commercial collections in the US Stickers - since I was about 7 years old. Vases Art Computer Equiptment Baseball Cards VHS tapes Coins: Anything that I find worthy of my tastes, rather randomly and not in any series. see http://www.mrbrklyn.com/coins.html Ruben
I use to collect everything I could afford in the world of coins, but it got a bit hard to finish a complete set of anything, so now I am just working on large cents.
Thanks for all the replies folks! I guess I am not what I would call a coin collector as such but have amassed a large amount of coins during the course of buying antiques and collectibles. The accumulation has grown over many years and now I am trying to discover all I can about the ones I have. I have learnt much since being here and thank you for sharing your knowledge. Best wishes, Mike.
I've collected so many different things growing, I think coin collecting just helped me focus my inner pack rat in an organized way
Greetings and welcome. I collect US pennies. Always looking for upgrade opportunities. My other weakness is Fast Fords. The Mustangs have been sold, but I still own one of the last F150 Lightnings produced.
I collect Morgans At least for now, looking to diversify eventually. I hope to start collecting these beauties in the near future...
Lincoln cents 1909-1958 Jefferson 5 cents Working on a U.S. type set, but doubt it'll never be completed U.S. Peace Dollars (almost done) Canada dollars - completed set Canada 5 cents - almost done world silver crowns australia pennies - Think that's enough to keep me busy for awhile
How stupid is this? That is one site I'll never post to... Did anyone else catch that change in the image to a - don't steel my bandwidth message?
Recently inherited a collection of mostly U.S. coins consisting of many denominations & types from 1843 onward.. My favorites are the Morgans. There's something of the romance of the Old West in this coin. It's a large coin that speaks to the vastness of the frontier, the mountain ranges and the Pacific Ocean. I wax nostalgic..but I often wonder where these coins traveled and what stories they could tell..
I collect: -U.S. cents, nickels, dimes, quarters and paper money (mainly from the till at work and roll hunting). I have bought bulk Lincolns and sets from coin shows. -World coins and paper money (nothing too specific but I really like the big, old Mexican silver) -Canadian coins and paper money (Radars and special serial numbers). -Early Canadian paper money -I like errors and varieties. Besides money, I collect vintage cameras, art, really bad movies on tape or disc, Chinese cigarette packages (empty), books and magazines on photography, ten-pin bowling balls, old bottles, 1970's "kit" lamps, and neat "found" objects that catch my eye.
1. State quarters 2. And now, as of this week, morgan dollars. I haven't really sketched out what I want to focus on, but something Morgan1878 just wrote struck with me. Anything related to the old west fascinates me, and I'm not totally sure why...there's something psychologically stirring about the concept of an unexplored frontier. That probably explains why I was so infatuated with playing The Oregon Trail on the Apple IIe in the 5th grade. So I think that may be my theme, anything relating to western expansion. But I'm also a bit of a fan of all things UK, as well as European history, so I may try to get in to older british stuff at some point as well.
Morgans are pretty exiting to collect (no matter how many people say they are overrated) Hopefully you will post images of your collection as it grows!! Good luck
