Thanks Andrew.... I was thinking about scanning the reverses and posting them tomorrow morning sometime. They really are something else. I wish we had these type notes back into the mix..but that will never happen. Regards, RickieB
My Gawd Rickie...... And I thought my back table stash of SVDB's and key dates was impressive, yikes, thers some beauty there, so much more so than a coin. I do mean that and I do hate to admit it, paper intrigues me so much more so than the copper does anymore......
Hello AJ..... Thanks for stopping by to read and view the thread. Now you know why my progression from bullion pieces and select other coins suddenly changed positions. DO not get me wrong, I enjoy coins and still look at them often, however, my collection focus is geared in a focused pathway now. There is always room for new folks and I do hope you decide to join us. I may scan the reverses this morning so check back for the real treat! LOL... It gets me everytime. Regards, RickieB
paperdog.....thanks, well from many different sources actually. I usually spend a considerable amount of time researching the notes and then go on the hunt! Andrew...you are funny I indeed hope Jack has the fever as well.... but only in a good way! With folks like Daggarjon, De Orc, SM, RichieB, Dursin, Noost, US656, Urban and many many others, this will be a great source for him! Come on Jack..the water is not to cold on this side...LOL RickieB
For me what realy stands out about a number of these notes is the work of the engravers, just look at it in detail then realise that this was donr by hand without the modern conveniences we have today and one of my all time fav companies is represented as well LOL the ABNC Thanks for sharing these with us Rickie
Copper is indeed very nice to look at... but for very different reasons then paper money while some coins do contain pure artistry and art... paper money has it much more so. Alot of folks here on the PM board have quite the collection of beautiful notes, and RickieB's collection is among the best IMHO Knowing your passion for quality AJ... if you do let the fever take you do show us what you aquire! It woudl be a true treat
While that is certainly true with US and some countries around the world, there are still countries that print marvelous designs!! One note i looked at last night was a note from Cambodia. Not to say anythign about the political nature or anythign besides the note lol look at this note listed on my site. I love how the colors were used, the way the colors compliment each other. The vingette is simple yet beautiful, and how the central image is framed by the columns... a very nice note IMHO. Granted its a 1988 note.. but nice artistic designs are around
Great show of paper currency. A fine collection to grow from there. One day we'll be seeing these graded and "from the RichieB hoard. Congrats on a spectacular collection. Bruce
Great looking notes RickieB!!! This is the third time I've stopped by this post to look at your notes. :thumb: Lou
Lou... Thank you very much, I am flattered!! It has taken some time to build to this point...long long way to go Sir! Regards, RickieB
Great notes RickieB. I love them all and can't pick a favorite but I can say I was the most stunned by the consecutive woodcutters. I love consecutives and I can't imagine how that old of a note can still be found consecutive! Great notes. Also love the Gold cert and of course the hancock! Kinda surprised to not see an indian chief to go with the black eagle. Can we expect one in the future?:eating:
Hello North49guy... Thanks for stopping by...yes indeed you will see one in the future..plus some others as well. Take care!! RickieB
Gorgeous notes Rickie!!! Being particularly fond of deuces, the '86 Hancock made me go take a cold shower! Hope all is well with you and the rest of the PM regulars!
That is quite the impressive collection RickieB, but you have to ask yourself..... "Do I have one of these yet???" http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/US100000dollarsbillobverse.jpg
Believe me gatzdon....I only wish I did!! To bad they were only used internally between transfers huh? Thanks for stopping by. RickieB
