What do you think about these new additions to my World coin collection? There are some really nice BU examples from Sarawak, France, Jamaica, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain & more.. There are a couple early large copper pieces from South America. The three Great Britain red Pennies are for my Penny type collection and the red 1888 coin from Belgian Congo will replace the old brown thing that was previously in my collection. There is a nice looking 1810 Gibraltar 2 Quartos in the lot. I also got a Costa Rica 1887 which was later re-valued & stamped 1923.

Except for the red pennies, these all came from the same collection. Combined, I paid the man just over $200 for the lot. I plan to visit him again & hopefully purchase more US & World coins.

I bought three of the coins without really knowing much about them. I’d like to know more about the 1792 British token, 1822 Buenos Ayres 1 Decimo and the 1808 Indonesia piece. If you have any data, please let me know about these pieces. I’ll post some individual photos for your comments (& for fun).

    Very best regards,

It is an UNC with a few speckles of toning on both sides. It is too large to fit in a 1$ 2x2 so it will reside in a flip for now.

Here is the 1888 Congo coin which is still red & lusterous after 121 years.

This coin states it is from "Buenos Ayres".

I visited Buenos Aires last summer (which is winter in Argentina).

    Nice bunch of coins.

Take a close look at the Congo piece, it looks like the 1888/7 overdate.

If you look between the prongs on the trident of the British trade dollar you should see the mint mark :D

This is apparently not rare but it is my first 1/2 Stiver coin and it is my first from The Colonies of Essequebo & Demarary.

I visited Manaus Brazil last summer with a friend from Germany. We did not see any of these large (silver dollar size) copper coins in circulation.

From what I can tell, it looks like your 1792 token is a Norfolk Norwich Halfpenny Condor Token, in AU-Unc

It looks more like an 8 over 8 over 7 over 7. Thanks for pointing it out to me. According to Krause, it is a common one. It is very cool.

    Very best regards,
