Gold is tough to grade, especially from just a photo. On the '07 I really, really like the luster and smooth obverse fields. That hit just in front of Liberty's nose is the biggest detractor that I see. The small hit across her cheek is less noticeable. The big hit on the reverse shield is somewhat hidden in the shield details. The obverse is the "money side" of this coin and it is very nice. So I expect it come back in a 64 holder.

I'd say yours is at least maybe equal to the 96. Your reverse is better (ding on the shield). That nick at 10 o'clock on the obverse (in front of the nose worries me), a nick on the cheek also but minor. The graders also look at the overall appeal of the coin, and yours is better.

I would be very happy with 64

The TPGs are more forgiving on gold coins in general and Double Eagles especially when it comes to marks because 1) gold is much softer than silver, copper and nickel and marks easier and 2) gold is heavier than the other metals so struck coins falling on others in the hopper and in bags are more likely to mark other coins (especially Double Eagles).

I wouldn't be surprised if your coin graded 64.

i have to say im lucky enough to buy these coins. but i love coins no matter the cost, its the history, stories & design of numismatics that i love...

I just bought a 1798 Large Cent for $85, and i love the coin, the sme day i spent alot on 5 double eagles

Geez that's a lot of money... as for the coin, I would say it has a lot better eye appeal, at least from the photos. I would say 63 just because of the mark in front of liberty's nose, which, to me, keeps it from being a 64.

It looks to be about a 64 from other specimens I have seen.

62 and 63 respectively are my guesses. I'd say 64 on the last coin, but the hit to the left of liberty's nose is a bit large.
