1837 Half Cent Token

I thought this was a bit cool. I'm sure it was cleaned but it was fun trying to catch the color in the image. How would you grade it if not for the cleaning?

Wow, thats is one cool token. I like how the three looks to be recut. I would probably call the token an XF but I am unversed in grading tokens as a whole.

 

Yeah, EF sounds about right. It is a very cool token. Too bad about the cleaning and odd color. But still very cool.

 

Very cool token, I especially like the off center punch at 7 o'clock.

 

Okay I will agree witht he other - XF. I like the way it looks and will add a cool onto the end - XF-cool. Nice token.

Very nice token, who cares what it would grade.

It is in the Redbook in the half cent section, slipped right in where a regular issue 1837 half cent would go. Not sure why they put it there. They don't put cent sized hard times tokens in the large cent section.

It isn't a rare token but it is popular because there was no regular issue half cent that year and it is also the only half cent hard times token.
