    east coast USA!

Last night I finished 9 boxes I picked up Tuesday. I got 40 40%ers, 10 1964 and two Franklins. I collect coins and have done an amazing job filling the holes in the Franklin and Walker albums.

I counted up the silver I have retrieved from approx 45 boxes since January and have 600 halves with silver.

60% are 40%ers and the rest are evenly split between Walkers, Franklins and 1964's as I had a run on Walkers and Franklins for a couple weeks that was amazing. Even got a 1916 Walker worth $75 or more dealer cost.
Picking up another 6-9 boxes today after I dump the last batch.
Happy hunting all. Not quitting until this breaks.

I also have a quart or more of foreign coins from all over the world including Cuba, Russia and China. Actually i have a shoebox full of labeled tubes and a cup of coins that I don't have enough of to catagorize.

All were found at the coin counting machines on the entry magnet and reject chute.

For Canada alone I have tubes of Loonies and Twoonies, 5 tubes of quarters, 4 tubes of dimes, 2 tubes of nickels and 4 of pennies. The Euro and then Mexico are next for the most coins and value. I have full tubes of mixed coins from 20 other countries or regions. I don't think they are worth much. I looked at the exchange rates and most countries coins are worth pennies of USD, even large coins. I do manage to get some old stuff back to 1900. All good.

Oh, and a kick butt jar of tokens good for everything and nothing. Lots of free car washes! Chuck E Cheese!

    Note:
Yellow boxes with yellow rolls yield the least for me.
I get the best from the yellow boxes with black rolls.
Anyone know how to identify the coin service?

If my math is right you are yielding 13.3 silver halves a box. You know that's awesome, It's like you have hit the comstock load of silver halves. In my parts I yield 3 silver halves a box, and that's only because on tell had five extra rolls that a costumer brought in and three of the rolls were all silver. If I take that one find out, I probably average one silver half per box. Keep us informed. By the way how are dumping all of the searched halves?

I just dumped a few boxes to get the rest of the cash
    to pick up more today.

Locally we have TD Banks with a half dozen close branches. Most have two large coin machines and the rest have one.

Free counting for customers and non-customers.

I got an account and deposit many of the counted coins to make it look good.

You can take it out instantly if you like.

Where I get the coins, to remain anonymous, has free coin counters for customers only.

Boss: That is totally astonishing. What would be the estimated value? That is like finding money in the walls of your house. Amazing and congrats

OK brand new to the forum and new to this coin thing. Always liked looking at old coins and wanted a new hobby. Haven't been able to make it to the bank yet to get any rolls to search. so any tips would be hepful. Did get a 1943 P nickel in change from the vending machine at work today PRETTY COOL at least I thought so.

Welcome! I see it's your first post. Congrats.

    And what a great find . . . I haven't seen a war-nickel in change in years!

I'm a bit new here myself . . . so I haven't much to offer about roll searching tips, other than: it's useful to make friends with tellers (and not during their busy time) -- oh, and it's useful to have a magnifying glass/loupe of some sort, particularly if you're over 40!

As for coins in general -- knowledge is power. Keep reading and learning in in the areas you want to collect.

I'll let the more experienced folks take it from here . . .

    Again: welcome

Thanks for the kind words Boss. Scrap value of these would be around $170. I figure they might fetch upto 350.00 depending upon who grades them.

Nice find. Only war nickel I've found in change (not rolls) was a 43-P as well.

I was passing by the bank that I never go to and asked if they had halve cent rolls. I only had 50 bucks on me. I was surprised that the teller told me she had almost a grand in rolls. She gave me five hand rolled rolls. The five did not contain any silver. My question is, do you go back and get the rest, or is this just some other searchers half dump location? What's your thoughts from expeirence?

searched 10 rolls of quarters and 2 rolls of halves. Ok I know not much to go through but hey I'm new to this. Found 2 canadian quarters at 80% silver I think (1938,1945). One 1964 halve and one 1967 (40% I think).

I'd go back and snatch up the rest. You'll never know what's in those rolls unless you buy them. Yesterday was the first time I ever bought rolls to search and my son and I had a blast. It's exciting looking at all the coins, thinking is the next one silver or a rare date or even a hole filler in your coin folder. We searched a few rolls of cents through halves with not a lot of good fortune, but we did get a 1960 Roosevelt dime, a few nickels in the 1940's and some wheaties. It's a way to have some good clean fun!!!

Found 13 wheats (including 1910 ans 1919S), 18 pre1960 nickels (including 1939) and a 1952D rosie. Pretty good haul and better wheats than usual.
