So I found this penny among my fathers coins. I'm know it's fake, but has anyone seen anything like it. Above the date there is an indentation that to me looks like a profile of JFK, the again maybe it's nobody. Either way, I thought it was odd. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

its not a fake, it was just stamped. And it is JFK. They did that most likely to resemble all the things they had in common. Search for it on the search function as there was a recent topic on this.

Obviously I new it was a real penny. I meant it was fake in that it wasn't originally minted that way. I did find the thread you mentioned (http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t47805/) Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the link to the article in the thread is broken, but I'm sure I'll find it with some searching.

They look like they are ready to kiss. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Sure - people forget how popular Cater was when he first got elected after Watergate...

And the coin date fits better with Carter than Kennedy. There is no reason in the world to put a Kennedy image on the coin.

That is the reason this coin was made, because of the similarities!

Yeah - we've heard of this, about a zillion times, but what you don't know is that by 1977 Kennedy wasn't that popular any longer and the bloom was off his legacy. That makes it still very likely to have been Carter.

I remember when those were being sold everywhere. That little card with that info on it and the coin.

Not long ago someone found an add or a post about a wall mounted type thing with an entire set of those coins with things stamped on them. Don't remember what it was all about now.
