I found a 1947 5FS Jefferson, and a 1990 with a 2 underneath the 1 in 1990 date. Have you ever heard of the 1990 like this? would you consider it "rare"
Pics I have tried to get some pics of it, but I only have a 2 megapixel cam, and cannot get close enough. If I sent it to you, could you gave it graded? I can refund what you spend and postage. Do you think it would be rare? Thanks, David
You could get it graded yourself by ANACS for $12+S&H I think... It might be a droped "letter" (or in this case...number) but is it under the letter as in the one over top of the other or one above the other? Speedy
Before I would ever recommend having it graded I would prefer to see pics. Just do the best you can, try to keep them clear & in focus. Send them to me and we'll see whatcha got
1990 Overdate It would be much easier to send in the nicklel for you to see it. I attempted to send a pic to Jason via E-Mail, but it is too difficult to see. I only have a 2 megabyte camera, and I cannot get a good enough close up of it. Got a address? David
David - Instead of trying to get closeups - just take a picture of the coin. Get as close as you can, while still keeping the coin in focus. Also - use the highest resolution your camera will allow. That will allow me to blow the picture up to see the details. Give it a try pal - it'll work
David,I discovered "by accident" that my 2 mp Nikon has a macro feature.Try zooming in to the max and then holding it down some more.Mine clicks into macro, two or three extra Xpower. You never know, maybe yours has the same thing?
The 1947 isn't at all unusual with five full steps, although they are usually nicked. I can't comment on the 1990, because I'm not sure exactly what it is you have.
