How did this happen to Kennedy Half?

    Had this half dollar for a long time. I always wondered what caused the Damage?

    Looks as if someone was trying to make a repouse type coin. Either way it was struck with some type of punch.

    Your coin shows some interesting damage, but it is PMD, Post Mint Damage, meaning it happened after leaving the mint. What caused the damage? Who knows unless the person that did it is found. Keep on searching and reading info here at CT. Good luck.
