Unhappy with Mint

I just went online to order the new Braille Dollar and the 2 roll Lincoln cent rolls.
The order went through, but I was told it was backordered. That is fine. Then at checkout, the mint says the Lincolns are no longer available. The Lincolns have a ship date of 4/10/09.

The reason I waited to save on the shipping. Now I called the mint and the phones are down.

I am not very happy at this moment.

The mint is not a business but FWIW, I've had similar experience with private dealers, and very reputable ones at that.

If you ordered them at the same time (and the order was accepted) you will only be charged one shipping fee even though they will come at different times in separate packages. (This does not hold true for subscription items. You get charged shipping on each item for them.)

 

The mint may still produce a special set of 2009 lincoln cents with a Lincoln commemorative so you may get a second chance to order.

 

It's not the Mint that did that, it was their new distribution center. There's been nothing but problems with Pitney Bowes from the beginning. Blame them.

I'm at a loss as to how Pitney Bowes is making any money at all. My last order came in two separate shipments; one from the post office, and the other two days later from UPS.

 

My brother's Lincoln silver dollars that he ordered over a month ago still haven't arrived. And supposedly they shipped 2 weeks ago.

 

What I don't get is the Braille $ being on back order 30 minutes after going on sale. Did anyone NOT get a backorder message when they ordered. I knew the sale date for them. Did it come as a surprise to the Mint?

 

Are you saying here that the rolls of log cabin cents are no longer available? If so, I'm glad that I got my order in time. Now I can put them on Ebay for $1,000 a roll. Just kidding, or maybe not kidding.

 

On the 23rd I made my very first order through the US mint for a 2 roll set of Log Cabin Lincolns. My order went through, but I was told the rolls are on back order to 04-03-09. I certainly hope I get them before next winter. I'm trying to be optimistic, although I've been reading a lot about the problems with ordering items from the US mint. Maybe I shouldn't have placed my order.

 

Yeah, I got the same possible back order email today and I ordered at 1230 this afternoon. I got my Lincolns about 2 weeks after I ordered.

 

I spoke to a Mint Service Rep and she said that the rolls are sold out. I didn't check on them before I called. The thing that got me more disgusted is the time she told me for the Braille Dollar, 4-6 Weeks. Are you kidding me? The backorder date for the product is 4/1. I can understand that, problems withe the presses, materials, etc. Especially the shortage of silver right now. But come on, 4-6 Weeks for a coin that went on sale yesterday.

 

Is anybody happy with the mint?
They'll do crap like this too...PRODUCT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING 4/12/2009, notice on that day, gold will go up...I am noticing this trend, when gold goes up, and how the prices go up as well.
I'm sorry to hear about your problem, but they way the U.S. mint runs these days, we all have our problems with them!

You pay the price of the coin on the day you ordered ...whether gold goes up or down while you wait for delivery has nothing to do with your purchase.

All orders are immediately placed on backorder once the order is placed. If you are limited in the amount you can order ..like the UHR or the 5 orders of Lincoln cents, the mint needs time to confirm your address and make sure that you haven't ordered your limit already.

It's ok to be angry ...but don't be a hater for no good reason.

 

Well, I'm just curious about how the shipping goes. The Mint charged my credit card for a single Lincoln Proof Silver Dollar (ordered on 3/1/09), but the status still shows as "In stock and reserved." They stated 3/23 as shipping date (2 days after they charged my card), so I expected it to show as shipped ... but no.

I'm just wondering when/if it will ship? Can't figure out if my order is lost or what ...

Should I call them?

 

Not what I'm talking about...Notice, how they won't give a price, and say product available, _____ _______ _________, now notice on that day, there price will go up, and so will gold.

 

me too. sometimes they mail us coins being return by others. and did not change the damaged boxes, dirty c.o.a. and coins being changed.

 

sometimes they ship out wrong COA... My friend bought 10 1/4 ounce AGE's, and 4 of them had 1/10 ounce COA

 

... and my story is this:

I ordered some new dollars . . . my order status has been on "hold" for two weeks. I called today (it was down this morning, but only a 10 minute wait this afternoon), and they told me it was on hold because they needed to check my credit card info. Wha?

Then she told me that since it's been over seven days, and since she had just verified my information (by asking me my address), she'd put a note in the file that says it's verified.

Wha???

I'll check my on-line status monday and see if anything's changed . . . .
