Hey Urban... I was looking through the note pile and found this guy hanging around...it is more than likely a VF+ but what a sweet note!

That is exactly is too.. you have to watch all the auctions and be ready to act when the time is right. True noone can be at every auction watching every note... so i am sure alot slip by urban :) but considering the notes he does get, and the prices he gets them for... i am convinced he does watch alot of auctions :)

Not the nicest note, but I managed to pick this one up for about $6 a few years back.

I don't usually scan the reverse side of my notes unless there's a reason too (ie, mule, large size, etc...) Just for you though, I'll go scan this one... :)

Ok....here's the reverse. Like I said, not the nicest note, but can't complain for around 6 bucks. Only bad thing about it is that I haven't been able to find a decent deal on a 1928C to complete my collection of small size $1 silvers.

That note is a Series 1928E and with a printing of only 3,519,324 it was an excellent deal!
Thaks for posting the reverse...Nice note...

get busy and finish that set!! Love to see them all together.

Yep when I started the NY collection 3 years ago I got some great deals!
One thing lead to another and the cash was not only in chunks but bucketfulls of it....that is what scarce Large Size/small size notes can do...rid you of all that cash...:D :D

Keep saving Urban..it willonly get more expensive as it goes on!

Yep, though I appreciate a nice Gem CU note as much as the next guy, I have an equal appreciation for the 'well circulated' notes as they always seem like they'd have a story to tell...if they could! ;)

As for price, I try to keep it reasonable by focusing only on small size notes, though I do have about 3 large notes in my collection just as examples of what they were like.

Well, after seeing the nice 1928C notes here and posting the pic of my 'ugly' 1928E $1 Silver Certificate, I decided to go see if I could find a great deal on a nice 'ugly' 1928C $10 Federal Reserve Note. Took me about 30 minutes after posting those pics of the 1928E to find the latest addition to my collection. It's nowhere near as nice as Urban's 1928C $10, but I didn't pay $80 for it either! ;)
