i got some coins that were graded by NTC, they look ok but i was wondering are they a good grading outfit or not.
I am not sure just what your definition of "good" is. They are independent unlike SGS, NNC, etc. However, they do not generally grade to the standards NGC or PCGS do. I own several of them. Most are over graded, but a couple could actually be accurate. However, I figure I "got what I paid for" to got a great bargain for at least nearly every one of them.
I snet in some stuff when NTC first started, they were very accurately graded, but, As for today? Who knows.
i got a few from a old man who is retired and selling his coins for money. i was just wondering if i should buy some more of them.
My experience with NTC was BAD. I bought a Morgan (forget what year) it had been cleaned, and had slight wear, NTC gave it a MS62. I stay far away from them, and their nasty green holders.
If he is selling them for the NTC graded price, then you best not. Here is where you absolutely buy the coin and not the slab.
