I just found this CRH. Is it improperly annealed? It is the same date and everything. Also, anyone know how much it's worth? That is, if it is improperly annealed. (Which I believe it is)
Alright, I'll post some in a moment. But meanwhile, I found this site; https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/931499/1998-canadian-nickel-improperly-annealed-planchet Matches up to what I thought. Same date and everything. Interesting.
You're forgetting something, comparing it to a 1962 nickel. Before 1982, Canadian nickels were PURE nickel. After that they are 75% nickel, 25% copper like ours. It's like comparing apples and oranges. But you may have something, I don't know.
I did not realize that. But it should still be fine, as more recent canadian nickels I have found contrast it the same way. I only put the comparison in there so you could see the color better. It is harder to see without something silver in the pic.
I’d say environmental toning I get a huge amount of Canadian coins near Syracuse,NY Always save the pure nickel pre-82 I have 50 pounds of post 82 from CRH. Banks don’t want them. Someday I’ll get to Canada again
