I am curious if anyone has an idea when the 2009 Silver Libertads may be released. My memory fails me on when last year's were issued. I've got my ASE, Maple Leaf, and Britannia for the year, and look forward to the latest from south of the border.

Thanks, and best wishes to you all.

    Thanks for the reply, Sir.

The original posting is rather dated. I picked up the 2009 a couple weeks ago off eBay, and they are generally available now. If you are looking, try Talisman Coins if you want an on-line vendor, or APMEX may have them as well.

By the way, I share your appreciation for P-38's. Have an outstanding day.

I know the posting was dated but in the off chance that you hadn't got one I thought I'd post that e-mail I got. Never know. It is indeed a beautiful coin and you've got me thinkin' John.....:)

Libertads have a lot going for them. They are a beautiful design, in proof or unc, they come from an historic mint, and they are a nice vehicle for holding silver. I have a year set going back to the early 80's (1983 if I recall, without checking). The 1998 is a premium rarity, and condition can sometimes be a challenge. The 2-oz. is a monster, and the 1/4 - 1 oz. proof sets are nice but can be pricey for the silver weight. I am thinking about working backward into some of the older coins but need to polish up my Espanol before grasping the denominations.

Thanks again for offering assistance. Kindest regards. JG
