I thought of sharing some cool papermoney with you fellows. I hope you enjoy these images. Most of them are good for one reason or another, but the one at the bottom is the most humble of them... it speaks of a time on which just the word of the one in charge would make a scribled piece of paper worth a whole peso, when a peso was a peso!
i agree, that last note speaks volumes but i think in that groiup, my favorite would be the one just above the last note. The text in El Banco just looks so sweet! i love how they made it pop the way it does and they all scream of ABNC well that and they have it spelled out in letters lol
Very nice! The second $50 design is awesome and I like how it was cut. The way the second 1 peso looks 3d is great as well. Are the black spots holes or spots?
They are holes, as this piece is a face proof made on thin paper. The ABNC did that on purpose to discourage people from just adding fake signatures and pass it along with others into circulation. This is the reverse of that particular note.
Some of the late 19th century Mexican paper money from the banks represents some of the loveliest paper money ever created in the Americas. They were usually printed by ABNCo, and have some incredible vignettes, most of which are unique to particular banks. Unlike many Latin American banks, the Mexican banks tended to use vignettes that were of their creation, and not stock ABNCo vignettes that were used on other countries notes. There are many legends swirling around about some of the feminine vignettes also, that the subjects were the illicit lovers of bank officials, or even the presidents of Mexico. Who knows if these have any substance in truth, but they make for interesting stories for collecting purposes.
Definietly true. Here is one that I am sure it was controversial at the time, to say the least! Impressive to se the Cathedral Church at Mexico City as the main vignette for the reverse.
those are some very nice notes you have there. here is my favorite from my collection. the little girl creeps me out. guess thats why i like it
That little girl grew up as her father became the General Manager for yet another bank, here's your "little" girl a couple of years later.
