There are so many red flags with this seller's auctions, I thought it might be interesting to post them. (The coins don't look too good to me, either). I'll start: 1) All sales final! http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/tn136617
2. I know nothing about coins. 3. These coins are not graded or authenticated so I am in no way implying as such. 4. Small blurry pics. Run Forrest, run! :goofer: Ribbit Ps: I left out the fact that all are counterfeits but that's the point.
That seller is in for a rude awakening. If you use PayPal there's no such thing as "all sales are final". But for added protection use a CC too. Also there is no such thing as the seller not being responsible once the coins are in the mail. The seller is responsible until the coins are PROVEN delivered.
1)He needs money for college...typical sob story. 2)He cleaned the coins to get the Chinese fingerprints off of them. 3)If he knows nothing about coins, why are the ones without mintmarks listed as P's?
As usual, the 1885-cc and 1889-cc Morgans are drawing a lot of bids. More and more of this junk is going to be entering the market through US based sellers, I fear. I expect this seller bought these under another id from one of the Asian fake vendors. These listings could be reported as violating eBay authenticity disclaimers, imo.
Here's the official definition: bid.i.ot, n. [Origin certain, deriv. fr. Ebay vernacular] A person who obstinately, blindly and irrationally bids on eBay items to the detriment of themselves & the community in general, and are bitterly intolerant of those who believe that Barnum was right. We've also determined that a group of 3 or more Bidiots, that bid on a item that shouldn't receive a single bid, is a Barnum of Bidiots. Ribbit
That '89-CC is the worst , just the way it looks in general , no coin wears like that , unless you take a dremel to it . rzage
It's interesting that it often takes eBay up to a week to message back that they received a report of a fake for sale, and then they often aren't removed; however I also know that these items were reported for circumventing PayPal fees this afternoon... and they went poof in a hurry!
