Ya i know man. Thats what I love so much about it. Australlia does that on alot of their coins and thats why they just look perfect.
Well, it's uncirculated - but they weren't ever intended for circulation to begin with. These are bullion coins, I don't know if a high MS condition would really affect the value very much - they trade for a premium over spot. Plus, I think australia actually issues them in protective direct fit holders, which leads to an even higher population in high grade MS conditions.
Sounds like the US Mint should take a page from the Australia Mint and learn a bit about quality control.
I agree. I've never purchased a ASE from the mint before, but I assume they don't lock them up in the airtite containers. They really should. I imagine most people would be willing to pay another 50 cents to a buck for the additional protection. I guess it there could be issues of pure volume, though. I don't know how many silver bullion pieces australia produces compared to the ASE.
That is a VERY cool coin Spider. I like the reverse proof fields. Doesn't GB also use this technique on their Britannias? Rick, ASE Proofs do come in airtite holders.
I think the Australia mint has been minting these for about 10+ years...so far I haven't seen a bad one...they all are this type of grade... Speedy
