I really want a Gettysburg half, but don't want to spend half a months morgage payment on one. Does anyone have one that is damaged or maybe cleaned that they could hook me up with. I don't want it as an investment just to have because it think their awsome. If not I guess i can start saving for one

    thanks

. . . what can you say? Here is a man who is strenuously craving a coin. . . and a commemorative coin at that! If at all possible, he must be helped. Buddy, can you spare a Gettysburg?

How much are you looking to spend? The Gettysburg Commemorative is about $400 in the lower MS grades. It will be hard to find one much cheaper than that because commemorative coins didn't circulate like regular issue coins. I don't know the populations in the circulated grades, but I promise it is very small. Since this coin will set you back at least 4 Benjamins, I would highly recommend buying one that is professionally graded by either NGC or PCGS to ensure that you are not buying a problem coin.

The Gettysburg is also on of my favorite commemoratives and is often found with incredible toning and luster. This example is one of my all time favorites.

My advice would be to wait and save your money instead of just trying to find an affordable example. Once you get about $800 saved, you can concentrate on finding a Gettysburg with exceptional eye appeal in MS66 that you would be proud to own and would be easy to sell in the future. Just my two cents.
