So it looks like a "Y" mintmark. The dime is heavily damaged after it was minted but the mintmark doesn't have any shiny spots near or on it like the rest of the damage on the die as usual id love any info or opinions and I do appreciate it. I tried researching it to no avail.
I agree 100% that its post mint damage i was just saying the mint mark looked like a "Y" and doesn't appear to look like it was caused from post mint damage but im definitely new with coin errors so im sure you guys are correct. I appreciate all the help and info just wanted to make it clear I wasn't trying to argue or disagree with anyone.
That's VVLDS Very Very late die state. That die should've been retired around 100,000 strikes ago. Not worth anything other than the dime it was struck on. The P or Philadelphia mint is well known for producing the worst coins. I have bought uncirculated rolls from them and most of them look like they've been beaten up for years!
