cut it down first then enlarge it, although I had never hear of such a thing before. I've had 50 files open at a time with a 500mg RAM computer.
Sorry it doesn't match any in this older book. A micro image would help. The one is a North and the other is a SE. But nothing like your coin. Sorry.
I think the lower two bands have flat spots right on the cusps of the bands. I would actually give it a 64-65 if it isn't a cleaned coin (there's no way to tell from the pictures.) Coin in hand, look for the cartwheel. Nice Coin!
IMO, I think it's the strike. not wear, on the obverse in the hair. If it has the cartwheel effect and not cleaned, I'd say MS 63-64 with a D over D RPM. I could be wrong, too. Bruce
I think it is pretty clearly not a FB coin. I have serious doubts about it being an MS coin as well. The coloration of the photo doesn't help in making that determination, but I think I see wear in several of the high points. Ruben
Nice coin. I have a few questions for anyone with expertise. Last week I asked my local coin dealer for $25 on mercury dimes and he gave me 41's and 42's that looked in better condition than my slabbed MS Merc's?? Are these years common in MS condition ? Should I look thru what I have and look for something? I wouldn't think a grumpy ole dealer would confuse gems for junk silver?
