Hi I just got this from an ebay auction, the coin is still in the original GSA holder and I scanned it with my HP scanner to get these images.

I paid $176 for the coin, I think I did pretty good.. what do you think it will grade and why?

Nice coin. I'd go 64. That's a good price IMO.

I would say MS62 maybe 63. Be sure to check it for VAMs! :)

It has a lot of frost and a pretty good strike. I would say it is a solid MS-63. Too many marks on Liberty's cheek for MS-64. The reverse is much cleaner than the obverse the it is the obverse that is the "money side".

I'd have to say 62, too many heavy marks on the cheeks to get a 63. You paid 62 money for it.

Thank you for all of your replies, I really like the coin and the entire GSA CC series I plan to pick up more, I've been checking ebay to get a reasonable price for ungraded versions it seems they go for about $156 - $180 so I'm a bit on the high end, I plan to pick up an 1883 CC next.

Once I get about 5 I will send them to NGC for grading just to see how well I really did.. but I think all in all it was a fair buy.. I never though I made a killer deal I just like to make sure I'm paying market.. It seems like I did. Not to mention how nice it looks on display with the rest of my coins ( most are new from the perthmint, that type of stuff) !!

I think it's a 62, but CCs can be given a bit more leeway so I wouldnt be shocked if it came back graded 63, too beat up for a 64.... way too beat up.

That's not a bad price! I noticed what looks like a chip in the rim. This may not be a bad thing.

Just scored a 1883 CC Of Ebay $154

I just scored a 1883 CC Morgan (with box and cert of auth) off ebay after the 10% discount from Live.com I paid $154 for it including shipping.. I'll be looking for your comments on this new coin once it arrives in a few days.

I really appreciate everyone's feedback, this site is great!

Oh and I just double checked the price I paid on this and it was $167 not $176 guess I got it backward! I really love these coins, however I see some expensive coins in my future to collect all the CC series :)

LOL, Either way you did good cause they retail for much more. Not to mention CC's do nothing but go up in value. Better buy than gold!
