keeping an eye on the mint website

I am going to start looking at the mint website everyday. They seem to be throwing a lot of surprises out there. Also I am going to scoop up a bunch of SAE proof and W when they come out (it would not surprise me if they offer them for just a few days and pull them). Anyone else notice how erratic the mint are lately?

Sudden cancellation of 2008 proof set, 2008 Kennedy rolls and Sac dollar rolls. Sudden cancellation of 2008 eagles and no 2009 eagles. Also sudden introduction of 2009 Lincoln rolls. They seem likely to do anything.

It didn't sink in until you said it I have noticed the same. I think they are scrambling for planchets.

We always monitor the site at work.
First off customers are constantly asking us and second it does get quite unpredictable at times but it has been so in many cases in the past. Maybe a tad worse through 08 for sure.

I rarely buy mint products personally but tell people if they want the products either order or buy them early. Those that waited too long had a few unpleasant surprises at the end of 2008 when a clad proof set jumped to $55 and proof ASEs to $85.

One never really can tell with the mint and procrasination can certainly cost you.

Why don't you just set up a subscription?
I've had a subscription for 25 of each for the past 3 years.
I was fortunate last year to receive 5 ASE-W with the 07 reverse.

It seems worse this year than in the past. I ordered a few various items on February 12 and they are coming one by one as they become available. I still haven't recieved my Lincoln dollar. I figured ordering it on the first day within two hours of them going on sale would be soon enough to avoid backorders. It seems anything gold or silver is backordered lately.

Can you tell me what the differences are between the 07 reverse and the 08? Maybe you have 2 photos? Thanks so much.:)

They have been erratic on the shipment dates for the UHR's too. Notice that very recently the mint suspended sales of the regular AGE's again due to "problems with blank supplies".

Danr, are you just talking about the proof ASE only or are the bullion ASE available?. I just picked up the last 4 my dealer had. BTW I picked a 2008 proof ASE before the price went up.

I do not recall them pulling mint and proof sets this early. When have they done that?

I will pick up a few proof and W ASE. I am not really into the bullion ASE's

I thought we were talkin' the mints general tendency to pull products without warning. Not products in particular.
