Please GTG of the 1979-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, Full Steps or not, and the + designation. As always, comments welcome, and please remember to vote in the poll.
MS 66 5fs ...clean fields...the usual planchet roughness on the cheek and a few too many scattered ticks to go higher (especially on the center of the building)...nice overall
I love to see a Jefferson that is as clean as yours. I have 3 WW II Nickels that are MS65. I only have a 1942 that is FS. Thanks for showing yours.
Nice eye appeal. Hits on cheek, shoulder, and the capital makes me believe the coin saw some circulation before a kind person took it out of circulation and properly cared for it. Consequently I voted AU58 full steps.
I'm not a follower of Jefferson nickels, but from the marks on the obverse and marks across the steps, I just can't give it more that a 63 no FS, even though many others are giving it a much higher grade and FS.
I'm at MS65 5FS. It's got a few hits in the focal areas on both sides which I think limits the grade to a 65. Lock full step coin.
