Here is a penny I found also. The back almost looks blank but if you look closely you can barely see it. It doesn't seem like anyone had did it their self because you can see and feel the rim of it is still there. And also the rim on the front is definitely really thick at the top of the coin and and not like any of the hundreds of penny's I have. It's almost feels sharp. And one more this about the front it look to be like a red blue purple tent. Anyway was just wondering if it's an error coin and if so what the value possibly would be.
It appears to be the obv looks a little off center? the reverse struck through Blank die? or it was grinded down.
Im new to this so I apologize if I ask another of questions. I'll try to keep it short. So what does that exactly mean? And is there possibly any value to it
It does look like a reverse struck though capped die but I've never seen one before. I have found a few Obverse struck through die caps.
Sometimes the Reverse Die is the Hammer Die and the Obverse Die is the Anvil. As the previous post states. The error could be either way but Obverse Die Cap is definitely more common.
