Possible error coin???? by Moore1147 posted Jan 19, 2021 at 8:14 AM Just came across this dime going through change in my vehicle and was wondering if it was an error coin. An if so what would the value possibly be.
Modern clad coinage is made from a layer of copper sandwiched between layers of a 75% copper 25% nickel alloy. High heat can cause areas of these layers to separate and a bubble may form. You can also see evidence of heat damage on the dark surfaces Hope this helps

welcome to CT. good question and your first 2 pictures (obverse and reverse) of your dime are really good. next time crop your pictures more. like furryfrog02 and Oldhoopster said, heat is what caused the issue with your coin. you came to the right forum to find the answers and to learn. good luck
