What are we looking at? I see what looks normal.

The bottom of the wooden staff is normal?

Well I don't have a proof but the circulated coins have the same details.

I do have the proofs, and all 8 of the business strikes and proofs look exactly like that...

that's just bizarre. Including the square lines around the wood on the left?

That is strange that they are a different size. Even if it is not an error good job keeping a sharp eye out Ruben!

Its hard to believe that what is on the left is in the design. it is so sloppy if it is.

what design purpose can they serve? One vertical and one horizontal dent is what it looks like to me.

Ruben, not sure one way or the other but I was looking at a 61 franklin half and where you circled is the pivot points are on the wooden stock attached to the bell. Maybe its not an error just a weak strike. I'll have to dig out my Ike's and compare.

Granted they did a poor job at it, but it seems pretty clear what they are trying to depict.

Ya thats it Luis. The bracket on the side where it pivots is what I was referring to.

Looks like the die was polished to much on the left side and does not show full details.
