Is it just me, or do BU Mexican copper coins appear to be more orange then say BU American copper coins?

What would cause this? Can you get different colored copper in different parts of the world?

Definitely! Copper changes color based on the different alloys it contains and also their percentage of content of these other metals. Alloys containing copper have been made since ancient times and usually are done this way so it will become a stronger more durable alloy as a final product. The usual metals to make alloys with copper are tin and zinc. The combination of one or more would definitely change the shade of red.

It could also be a climate issue. Even though Mexico and the US are neighbors thier is enough climatic differences that the coins could tone different or should I say age different. I believe the composition of the coin has more do do with it, climatic differences can also play a part in it.
