I'm working on my grading skills, but they're not there yet, so I could use some feedback from those with better and more-experienced eyes than I have.

First off is an 1834 small date half dollar. Although it's not visible in the scan, the coin has nice toning around the edges. I'm thinking it's about a VF-30/35, falling short of EF-40 by virtue of the brow and hair above the eye.

Next up is a 1937 proof Lincoln Cent. It also has some toning and is a nice RB. I have a hard time distinguishing a PF-60 from a PF-62 from a PF-65 so any thoughts you guys have would be welcome.

    Thanks for the help!

Edit: the white dots on the penny are dust or whatever, not actually on the coin.

I'd agree with you about the half ;) As for the cent - the pics are bit to say for sure. ( I have the same problems with copper pics :( ) But it appears to me that there is some slight wear on the reverse - I'd guess from improper storage and the coin sliding around. So I'd grade this one PF55 - PF58.

The proof would be labeled as an impaired proof.
