    The new Colorado State Quarter was announced yesterday...

    Looks pretty cool, due to be minted mid 2006...

    Most believe the mountain is Longs Peak but there are different opinions on that...

    Dave;
    Hate to break it to you this way, but the one in the forground in actually Casper Mountain and the one behind it is Muddy Mountain. It's what all those "greenies" see while fishing the lakes around Casper. Evidently one of them entered this in the contest and it was picked by your governor.

    I'm more surprised that they didn't pick a large sugar beet inside of a square outline. That way everyone would have know it was Colorado.

    Just funning ya!

    Can't say I'm totally disappointed with the Colorado design.

    It's okay.

    Would have prefered the San Juans, or Maroon Bells, and the use of some wildlife such as Bighorn Sheep, or Mountain Lions. Just got back from Ouray, and the waterfalls are spectacular this spring. They also would have been a nice touch.

    Funny thing though. Governor Owens didn't even ask my opinion!

    :) :)

    Did Old Dan pose for the Wyoming quarter? Kind of looks like him from the backside and the horse looks like a thourlybred! Naw, its not Old Dan as there isn't a fly rod or rifle on the horse and he never leaves home without them! My mistake!

    That design for the Wyoming quarter looks like one Charles Russell would have sketched out for a drink at the bar. However, didn't see the designer's name or initials on it.
