Celebrating my 50th day of abstinence from Cigarettes , I have here two Purrrdy Ladies !! Which do you like better and why ? I call one Laser Eye and one 100 shades of grey ( actually proof - like with green hues )
I guess that I'm more partial to 1881. She looks flashier and less blemished than her sister. But, hey, I'd take either! Congrats on your cig abstinence.
@SensibleSal66 CONGRATS on your 50 days of freedom from having to go out in the rain and cold and snow and heat at all hours of the day and night to get a fix of nicotine! I just love being free of it! Even when you are a year or more down this road..take it a day or even an hour or half hour at a time because those cravings can sneak back when you're least expecting them. Have you had the dream yet of where you smoke a cigarette or take a puff of one and then feel all guilty and disappointed with yourself in the dream? And then you feel great when you wake up? I'm many years - decades - probably 2, by now, free! :-D Happy for you! (EDITED): Oh...and I prefer the 1880 coin because of how the toning looks.
I think I have split personality "dream" disorder . Something I invented . I don't smoke in my dream but I often am looking for one .
You're doing good, pal. Just keep looking forward, don't look back. Now to those ladies. That 1880 has me singing to myself, I'll take that tramp. Enjoy...
I couldn't play favorites. One Christmas when I was very young, my grandfather gave each of the cousins a silver Morgan. (This was probably at a time when you could still get them from the bank at face value, but it may have been after Silver Certificate redemptions ended.) I think they were mostly 1880-S and 1881-S, and all low-grade MS. I know my brother got an 1880-S, and I got an 1881-S. I'm thinking there might have been one 1882-S. No 1883-S or 1884-S, unfortunately. Of course I still have it.
Congratulations on being smoke free. Wishing you some strength and motivation to keep racking up those days
I'd go first and fast for the 1881, but wouldn't turn down the other one st a reasonable price. Reasonable for me being $15 or less. Too much chatter on the cheek for my taste.
I'll say it again, all Morgan's keepers, all of them, yours included. Both of them are special. Thanks for posting them.
Fifty days is a good start. Congratulations and keep it up. I went from cigarettes to sunflower seeds back in the early '70s because my wife was pregnant and we had just learned about second hand smoke. Had lots of "salt sores" in my mouth, but have stayed off of them ever since.
You are a good man Mountain Man. The best thing you could have done for family's sake and yours also. You deserve congratulations too. Be safe and stay warm up there in Big Sky Country. Good luck Sensible Sal, hang in there, thanks for the post.
i like them both as well. great job on the 50 days of being free. i wish i had your courage. good luck
