Just wondering if anyone has heard if DANSCO has shut down? I was looking over Wizard Coin Supply stock and was shocked to see so many albums not available.
Before COVID-19, Dansco was in the process of moving their production and headquarters to Washington state. However, COVID-19 has slowed the transition process considerably. This is the latest update that was posted on one of their affiliate websites.
All I know is that coin dealers have dealt with very slow responses from Dansco even before the pandemic. They were often YEARS behind in fulfilling orders at times. They take the entire month of December off from work. And before anyone says that someone should compete with them, just try to do what they do (and find all those old jigs and tools they used to make those albums) and try to make a buck doing it. Good luck with that. Coin collectors are a fickle bunch.
Scroll down to the post dated 12/8/2020 on this link. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic-last-page.asp?TOPIC_ID=356028&SearchTerms=dansco The latest word from Dansco is Spring 2021 deliveries of something....
I might have to move on to Littleton in some albums then. I do have a mix anyways. But my older Whitman's have ended up looking quite ragged having had no slip covers.
I've got all Danscos. But I'm tired of waiting for new albums. I bought a Littleton Innovation Dollar album. Ugh! I don't like them. I'll use it for now until I can get a Dansco (I'm certainly not holding my breath--may be years! Unfortunately!).
