This is my newest Jefferson Nickel addition to my registry set. Surprisingly, I only upgraded from an MS66 to an MS66*, but what a star. The obverse has a golden orange center that explodes into concentric bands of bright pink, blue-violet, light green, yellow, pink again, lime green, and orange. Just a cornucopia of color on very pleasing surfaces. The reverse is has few too many marks for a true MS66, but I can't fault NGC for market grading this beauty. Much more subdued toning of intermingled yellow and violet with blushes of magenta at the peripheries. This coin replaces a very attractive NGC MS66 that has intermingled brown, violet, and mint green on both sides. Here are photos of both the new and the old. Enjoy! Comments and opinions welcome! Does anyone like the old coin better?
