Hey folks! My son and I have been collecting and learning about US and world coins since he was born (and gifted a proof set for the year of his birth). In the last couple years, we have dug in a little more seriously- trying to read and learn all that we can. We sifted through a couple coin banks last night to find modern Lincoln cents for our coin books. We found this 1948-S that just seems...off. Is this damage or something else? Even if it is damaged, the coin is very visually appealing, so we will likely keep it in our collection. I appreciate any insight- thank you!!
DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged It took a few hits after it left the US Mint Nice that you started a great hobby with your kid! Welcome to CoinTalk!
Lincoln lost that fight! All kind of cuts and scrapes! Welcome to CT! I haven't been here long but am having a blast and learning a lot. These guys really know coins (well most of them). LOL
