 I see the announcement that the mint will be offering the 2 roll penny set for $8.95 with the same composition...5% copper the remainder in zinc.

A better deal than ebay, but still not a deal. If they sell enough of these, maybe they'll break even on producing cents this year!

For a lot of people it will be the easiest way to get the P and D rolls. Sad but true. I will probably just wait and get a few in the proof and mint sets later on. Just what ever cranks your tractor.

wow...$8.95 for $1.00 face. If I remember correctly the Nickel roll sets in 2004-2006 were the same price for $4.00 face. Probably will still get a couple boxes anyways since I can't find them at the bank. Thanks for posting.

Eventually The mint will produce hundreds of millions of the new Lincolns. Is there any difference between these rolls and one you could get at the bank? Has the mint kept the the new Lincolns supply low thus keeping the demand high while fully knowing they would be offering this product?

This is the latest data that I have seen for the mintages. Hard to say what's going on with the whole situation. The U.S. Mint description also states that this first offering will be for a "limited time"...whatever that means..

If the mintages are correct they are low. The Lincoln sets sets are projected low mintage also, however only the mint knows the numbers they have produced and plan to produce.

Shouldn't be a problem with the philly mint, but the denver I'm not too sure of, so your on your own with that one.

I dont think there's much hope in my bank getting these in any time too soon. I've been asking for the past three weeks and they either dont now anything about the new Lincoln Cents or they do but they just dont know if they'll be getting them. This is all at the same bank! Dont they get memos about new releases? Anyway, if the only option is buying them from the mint then I guess thats the way I'll go. Whether its in the Unc. set or a few rolls I'll be getting some somehow.

I can't find the 2009 Lincoln rolls on the Mint website. Does anyone know what 'section' they are in? I'm sorry if they are in plain sight and I am missing them!!!! Thanks. davdo

OK, thanks. So they are just listed on the product schedule--that's why I couldn't find them anywhere else! Duh!! Thanks again. davdo.
