Why can't we get a direct ship. of the American Indian Dollar?

The US Mint wants to get out the $1 coin into circulation, so why don't they do the direct ship deal of $250 in 10 rolls of coins as stated on their website? We'll never see them in any great quantity if they're waiting for the other $1 coins to be hoarded and these to be issued late in the year.
I'd take at least one box ($250) right now and after perusing them I'll spend them and get them into circulation. The Gov't is hoarding all the 2002-2008 Sacajawea $1 coins as it is now. The Native American coin is a new design that will be highly sought after by modern coin collectors as well as error collectors. They have to be out there before they become popular & comfortable with the general public.

I puchased two boxes of the new Native American rolls through the direct ship method early in the year. They must have sold very fast as they are not currently available. The mint told me they may be available again later in the year. Keep watch at their website.

I ordered my 4 boxes earlier this year as well and have spend 1 box already. They are most likely in the process of rolling more. If you watch the direct ship page from time to time, you will notice that various presidents will go off sale for a period of time and then come back on. Be patient.

Dollar coins will NOT circulate until the dollar bill is removed from circulation.
    It's that simple.
Any dollar coin you put into circulation will go straight to the bank and sit there.

I personally believe the dollar coin is a good idea economically.
Dollar bills cost a lot more to produce when life spans are considered.
The coin NEEDS to be sized in such a way as to make it easily differentiated from a quarter.

If I ruled the roost, the following changes would be made:
    - the cent disappears, period.
    - the nickel disappears OR gets redesigned so that it costs less to produce than its face value.
    - the half dollar is delegated to commemoratives only (no business strikes).
    - the dollar bill disappears, period.
    - the dollar coins are resized to the current half dollar size; that way they WOULD be easily distinguishable.
    - with the dollar bill gone and the dollar coin in place, two dollar bills would then circulate; must be boatloads of them in the Federal Reserve banks.

I'm surprised we haven't started circulating loonies and two-nies here in Michigan. We circulate Canadian cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters already. Almost any place takes them at face value.

    See...patience is a virtue.

The dollar coin does circulate in major cities where there are subways, vending machines, toll roads/bridges. It may not catch on out in the stix but then again ....it's the stix.
