Elongated Coins

Nothing special but a few new additions to my growing elongated coin collection. These are from the York, PA White Rose Coin Club.

I wonder if @lordmarcovan ever received an email saying something like "hey I have no idea who you are but I found your address in an elongated penny"

 

I love the ones that still clearly show the opposite side of the coin. Most of mine just have blank, shiny, backs.

 

Smashed? The term is elongates. And yes they do. It's a big thing and they've been around a long time.

 

Just tell @lordmarcovan that the Liberty Dime is a 2 over a 1. Lol

 

I used to go to a place called "The Grace Museum" in my hometown of Abilene, Tx, and they had a coin elongating machine... I used to love watching the coins go through the machine and flatten under the immense pressure of the machine

 

It's fun to crank that handle. I get them everywhere I go when they have a machine.

 

Found these. Some are from interesting places.

 

I've got a few. One of these days I'll get around to go thru them.

 

I think you have more than me but I keep adding to mine. Lol

 

40 years of collecting them from coin counters and every vacation spot I visited.

When I was a 'young blade' we used to place coins on the train tracks to get them flattened out.

 

I remember at Wal-Mart a guy was giving those away for free... I wish I still had them... They're pretty cool
