Hello all, wondering opinions on the grade of this 1806 draped bust quarter? Screenshot_20210112-065609_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20210112-065551_Gallery.jpg

    F-12. Strong rims.

    It might go VF-20.

My grade would be VG-10. There are coins graded Fine that are more appealing than this piece. It looks like someone went over the high points of the coin with some sort of an abrasive. This is not a look that I strive to find.

Nice looking circ cam. Several people collect coins in this condition. Somewhere between VG and F.

VG10, almost an F12. Beautiful patina.

I, too, would be in the VG-F camp.

A F-12, but I agree with johnmilton that the high points do not look like they experienced natural circulation wear. I don't think the coin would grade.

I wasn't intending to send it in. I figure a lot has been done to a coin this old over the years anyway.

Nice looking coin but worn enough that I'm at VG-10. On a good day it might make a F-12z

    My first impression was F-12.
Then I pulled out the book and came up with VG-10.

I like your coin. If it weren't for G or F grades, I probably wouldn't have been able to put them into my book. Thanks for showing us your coin.

Lovely coin. I'd call it a Fine. LOVE the highlighting. Looks quite similar to one of my own favorites. I'm more of an "eye-appeal" guy than a "technical" bigot. 50c 1807.JPG

I too go with with eye appeal. Nice coin F maybe F12, good luck!

I agree with the others who find the high spots troubling. Overall this is a nice looking coin and I would agree F-F12. IMHO

I think more of a VG10, after checking Photograde. Look for hairlines on the light high areas to see if the CirCam look has been helped along. I have a CBH like that and it's a perfect album coin even if it won't straight grade.

I would say F-12 for sure.

I have an F-12 1799 Draped Bust Dollar and it’s exactly in the condition as yours.

I would grade yours F-15 for sure!
