I found another one. The 1951 Hawaii bus token that was so highly collected by tourists the Honolulu Rapid Transit Company took them out of circulation and replace it with a token that wasn't really appealing to collectors. View attachment 1230665 View attachment 1230666
I'm having problems today. My knee aches, thick clouds and poor Internet. Not sure why I just have see attachment in my opening post.
They had a boring design before and after this one. Some of the 1920's tokens were cupro-nickel, others were struck on something resembling zinc. I used to own a bunch of the pre-1950s era tokens but sold them years ago.
The Atwood-Coffee Catalogue of United States and Canadian Transportation Tokens states that the 1951 Honolulu Rapid Transit Company Ltd. with the hula girl were never placed in use.
Thanks for posting the photos so I don't have to click on the links. Saves me download allowance. LOL
You're welcome. I don't know what happened as I don't do links but my thread did them and I couldn't change it. So far this week and last week my wife and I have had a terrible time with our cell phones and the Internet.
