Where I come from, my choice of language is commonplace. While I am surprised that people are so thin skinned about it, I assured LaCointessa that I would choose different language going forward, and I meant it. I give you the same assurance. The strange part is that I am a christian as well, and I've never once in my life been offended by this so I guess I just don't know what it's like. Thanks for the insight on the coin, I had figured it for grease based on what little I know about grease filled dies
You're saying I'm thin skinned? You don't know me very well yet to make that statement. I really was not complaining out of anger. I was just stating that it's not nice for some people. I'm clergy myself but I respect the comments of people. I'm a recognized Elder part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. So Please understand why we make our comments. No need to start judging anyone. I don't.
Make no mistake, I wasn't trying to judge, it just seems a little thin skinned to be offended by a single word in today's day and age. That is fascinating though, holding such a title and still having time for coin collecting. You must be a very busy man! Looks like I'm 0-2 today lol I'm gonna go back to my cave now
That is quite a fish. Great catch! Metal detecting is something my dad always wants to do with me, I've heard it can be fun but I struggle with how to use them. I have a learning disability but I try as hard as I can.
Schmoo, Welcome to CoinTalk. If I recall correctly, rabbi means “teacher”. In order to teach, one must learn first. It seems like you’re on the right path! As you have observed, some of us can come off a little rough at first, however most of us are really just warm & fuzzy once you get to know us! In my opinion, the gruffness comes from many ignorant, lazy posters asking people to do their homework for them. However, folks like yourself that are willing to learn and can take an occasional jab should have lots of fun here. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your journey!
THIS IS A COIN COLLECTORS SITE! It is not a site to discuss any form of religion or get your panties in a wad because someone used the word Jesus. LETS STICK TO COINS AND USE A LITTLE COMMON SENSE!
I appreciate the warm greeting! I have no problem with humor, it's possibly my favorite thing in the world lol you're right, rabbi means my teacher. It's just a nickname I've had since high school since I guess I resemble a guy from TLC a million years ago of the same namesake. It just kinda stuck, and it's been my nickname ever since.
LOL "Cheezits man" it does have a ring to it. I wouldn't want to ruffle any more feathers though, I don't want to end up on everybody's ignore list.
You're correct and I agree. You are entitled to your opinion. Let's move on! I don't wear panties.. That would be kind of wrong and kinky
Welcome my man. Do not go back in to your cave. I collect coins like this. It looks like some people have sand in there (you know). We used to say jesus alou . the ball player. Has that been canceled yet?
RabbiSchmooley said "Please, show me this "many" you speak of." Just because someone doesn't respond to a post does not mean that they agree, or disagree with you. I've been a member of CT over three years, and I'm not sure if I've replied to any posts as many as 6 times over that 3+ years? I'm still in the learning stage, and I've been a hobby coin collector since 1962, off and on. But, I'm one of the "many"! So, I shall break out of my normal no reply to a post. @paddyman98 said it best, "Don't use my saviors name in vain"! But, I will add in all sincerity, I'll pray for you.
