I think the 1812 is an O108A - it has the reverse cracks mentioned. It was a lousy day for taking photos - shot about 40 on this puppy with various lights. It was either dark, too much glare or just the wrong color - so I gave up. The quarter came out about right for the quarter - could not resist getting this coin. Quarter is not perfect, but I love these old bust coins. As always feel free to post opinions - good, bad or indifferent. Some pictures of the cracks - could not get a good picture of the one across 50 C.
Marc nice pickups , gotta get one when I'm done with my 20th cenyury set , love the designs on both , but the quarter is great . rzage
very nice pickups, if I wasn't feeling so lazy I'd look up that half...maybe tomarrow. But they are both beauties.
Great coin. I am scared to collect these as they are so expensive and I can't afford what I currently collect. I think the longer one collects perhaps the more attracted they are to the older stuff. I thought about collected Seated Halfs but there are too many and they are all at least $500 a piece for decent grades. Maybe someday. Congrats
I think XF40 - at least in my opinion and yes it might stretch to XF45. And for BOSS - define decent grade? You can get a lot of them for under 500 bucks. So far I have not paid $500 for a capped bust half - not even the AU58 coin I have. I actually like the coins from vf to xf, but I also have a few goods and fines - especially in draped bust halves. PS - Thanks for the opinions.
