You rarely see rainbows like this

Nice killer set with killer toning to boot. I dont know about you but I rarely see toning on this series and really nice toning like this one has.
What do you think of the set and toning?

Very ugly in my opinion. Toning is fine but if you can't recognize the coin it is too much.

 

Not attractive at all.

 

I think perhaps that sooner or later people will learn the storage conditions to consistently produce market-desirable toning and then the bottom will drop out of the market for coins which are not actually rare for a given type and condition.

That being said, I've never really seen the appeal of banded toning. In silicon wafer processing, we were always trying to do the reverse and get films as uniform in thickness as possible. If you see bands like that it means something has gone dreadfully wrong! So maybe I'm just prejudiced.

 

I don't like em at all this is what I like nice toining for an old indian it looks better in hand.

 

I prefer toning that does not distract from the detail of the coin. But, is this toning?

 

I have no experience with that series, so I don't know how they normally tone, but that first one sure doesn't look natural to me. It does match the PCGS TrueView, though.

 

Wow, that's a toning train wreck. I'll pass.

 

It's not for me. I think it looks a bit artificial, and the problem with that is even if it is natural it doesn't appeal.
