I know this is likely from damage or Die Deterioration, Right? Is this caused from the die actually twisting at the end (maybe loose) of the strike or is it simply just the way the die has worn over time? I appreciate your help.
I guess it can not really be from twisting of the die during the strike because it isn't evident anywhere else on the coin.
Die deterioration would be my guess Jeff. Looks like some die polishing marks to try and save the die for a longer life. Could have been related to a clash they were trying to polish out.
