Check this out, some guy on another forum posted about this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41103&item=3977251166&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW He said the guy says it's a REAL Half Dollar!!! Enjoy!! SM
No kidding. $175, and only 14 hours left to get it. Zero bids so far. More trolling for the unwary. I punched in my zip code to get the shipping and handling ( ) and it came back $13.84. !!! The most expensive '76D Kennedy my Red Book shows is $1.50.
Well, he must have learned from one of his three (count them, three) sales with feedback: One of the others was for a used cell phone - sold for $1 + $37.80 S/H
I was about to bid and pick up the deal of a lifetime! Good think I read this thread first. "It's real"
Wait, there's more!!! Hurry, hurry, hurry!!! You have less than 40 hours to bid on his other two coin auctions: - A "liberty silver dollar" (click here): He doesn't say whether he's selling both of them or just one... but they look absolutely EXQUISITE!! A true 1979 "liberty silver dollar"! (Some people call these coins "Susan B. Anthony dollars", but we numismatists know the REAL story!! Get these now... while you still can! At only $55 it's a STEAL even just for one coin! - Or you could try your bidding luck/skill with TWO -- count 'em... TWO -- "Kennedy halves silver coins" (click here now)! For the low-low price of UNDER $100 -- for TWO REAL "Kennedy halves silver coins" -- you just can't beat it!!!! Oh, did I mention that these are the RAREST of the RARE -- a 1971 and a 1972 Kennedy half. And they're SILVER!!!! Mortgage the house -- get a second mortgage if you have to -- but BID, BID, BID!!!! This message brought to you by the Union for the Numismatically Challenged -- UNC for short (you've probably seen our initials ALL OVER this forum!). - Andrew P.S. -- And remember that those shipping charges also include personalized handling.
All right, all right, Kashmar thinks he has found a gold mine and is just exploring. Can't blame a guy for that, can you?
The "materials" for the Liberty Silver Dollar says silver. My Red Book only shows copper-nickel clad compositions for any of the SBAs. Guess that's what makes it so rare !
Yes somewhere out there is someone who would bid on this coin. Maybe not this time or next time, but it only takes one. Sad but True.
Did this guy not think to check around and see what these are really worth before sticking some outrageous price on the auction? And then to have the brass b@!!s to put a reserve on it on top of that? I wonder what the reserve is on this? Or does everyone think he's just snipe hunting for some sucker and knows exactly what he's doing?? He's either really bold or really stupid....
what is REALLY funny is that you have to pay ebay to list an item, even if no one buys it. those auctions probably cost him 15 bucks!
