crappy-looking 1866 shield nickel lokks like it has re-punched date

    I got this pretty cheap, but when closed in on the date, it looks like a re-punched.

    It would be VERY difficult to attribute that as a RPD due to the corrosion. With a little imagination it could be almost anything.
