I feel like an idiot. I just bought a proof 1963 rosie on ebay for one dollar. The catch is, I didn't see the $3 shipping charges. That won't happen again.:headbang:

People have been known to overlook that part of ebay sometimes. I learned my lesson like that one time.

Well the best lesson learned is usually bought and paid for.....but always learn from your misteaks, er misstakes, or well you get the idea.....

That's why I try to buy multiple coins from the same seller so that I can combine shipping.

Its all right. A very cheap mistake. Rather it be $4 than $100. I also try and look for sellers who combine on shipping. Good luck on furture buys.

Yesiree, not paying attention to details can be expensive. But consider this...packing materials, listing fees, postage and final sellers fees all combine to make this a reality. Then there is delivery confirmation, an additional 75 cents, which I use when mailing anything from Ebay or Half.com. It's all an expense that must be considered when buying or selling. EDITED-No self-promotion please. I DO NOT overcharge for shipping. lol.

Imagine entering $10,000.00 instead of $10, then hitting the Submit Bid button. Yikes, I must have dozed off with a finger on the keyboard, woke up and hit the Enter button. Thankfully, I was able to retract my bid without penalty, a couple of years ago. Whew.

I doubt that anybody would have outbid me. LOL

Dear the man12: I estimate I have bought approx $400-600 in lacquered coins, scratched some coins, over acetoned them and used clumped up Dellar's Darkener to see my 09 S VDB turn nearly black (dark grey-not ruined but ugly in my opinion). Total mistakes in the thousands. You got off easy. I would love to have a $3 dollar mistake. I usually buy multiple coins for small lots to make up for shipping handling as others have said.

You guys are right. It's not really a big deal. I just feel bad because I missed out on a lot right before with 1963 washington, franklin and rosie, all cameo, went for $7. I had it in my watch list.

You actually got off cheap. A lot of ebay seller automatically ship everything Priority mail (or at least charge as if they do.) which would have been a $5 charge. And they could have tacked on a manditory $2 insurance fee as well. (Many sellers do, and then self insure.)

I realized I'm actually excited to get the coin. I just wish I had looked at the shipping charges.

I bought a coin from France (1 coin) and was charged 8 euros to ship it! Now that is pricey shipping!
