Seeing that pic and comment... I was out there with you guys... aboard the USS Pensacola LSD38. I didn't wear a brown vest but a silver suit sitting on my swivel cat just waiting for one of you flyboys to bounce on my flightdeck so i could push you off into the water Never did get that chance, they never let us BMs do anything fun lol
I am a retired registered nurse who has an unhealthy affection for Anglo Saxon coinage. I have been a collector since 1963 and originally collected mainly different coins from pocket change then around 1980 I bought my very first Saxon sceatta from Northumbria and that was it, I was caught hook line and sinker. Since then my Saxon collection has blossomed into a large and beautiful collection. I also collect world coins and my running total is around 14,000. If I had to select my favourite coin it would have to be an offa heavy type penny so beautiful and intricate for its age.

That is OK, you will get the hang of it. 14,000 coins, wow, that is a LOT of coins! I thought I was over the top with my 5,000 or so. I see I have a ways to go yet. Welcome aboard and look forward to seeing more of your coins posted.
So this has been a while. A lot of new (and active!) members have posted here recently. Lets give it a go!
Almost 1,000 of them! He should keep them all in a chest so he can periodically run his fingers through them. (In their flips, of course!)
I am the only lawncare guy here I am German/ born in the City of Julich part of the former Duchy of Julich-Cleve-Berg. I love being busy, can never sit still/ take naps/ always on the go. During my eight month lawn season, I go full bore/ non stop until Winter arrives in December. During the Winter, I snowmobiling/ walking my dogs/ play with my coins. I love skeet shooting/ hunting/ target practise with my 200lb. crossbow. Also during time off I do weight lifting/ exercises/ to stay in shape. I crave good food too.... I used to have a excellent butterfly/ moth collection/ but now turning it into funds to buy nice coins. In coins, I have no focus/ pretty well collect all 27 centuries of coinage. I ended up being asked out on a date by one of my lawn clients.....now she gets "free" lawn/ garden service. Almost forgot, I love US muscle cars from the sixties/ the sound of a 427 engine coming thru the factory sidepipes is beautifull music..... John me at work....and my Rottie/ one coin photo that actually turned out good.
My wife always tells me that I should have gone to college, become a lawyer/ doctor.....instead pushing a lawnmower. But, then I told her she would have never met me
Right Esp. today, I was out for a 10K hike with (Loki) my Rottie, the temperature around -4 celsius/ a little snow cover/ just gorgeous. I let him romp around, we both had fun. Saw a Snowy Owl, first one this Winter. I confess, I do think about coins while at work, and while out having a good time.
